Department of Trauma Surgery

The department of Trauma Surgery at King George's Medical University was created in 2016 under the able guidance of Prof. Ravikant (Vice Chancellor) by Prof. Sandeep Tiwari, the founder Head and Professor. This was the first separate department of Trauma Surgery in Country to serve and provide state of art trauma care to trauma victims. Later in January 2017 Dr. Anita Singh, Dr. Yadvendra Dheer, Dr. Vaibhav Jaiswal, Dr. Anoop Jaiswal & Dr. Narendra Kumar join the department as Assistant Professors. Because of his keen interest in trauma care professor Samir Misra also joined the department in November 2017 as Associate Professor. In 2021 five post graduate seats (MS in Traumatology & Surgery) were permitted by NMC and it became the first Government institute of India to start MS Course in this specialty. The department focuses on holistic care for trauma victims, with experienced faculty and residents dedicated to trauma care. The department has total bed strength of 46 beds, including 10 HDU beds, and has 02 major operation theatres with state of the art equipment. The department also conducts social outreach, trauma prevention programs and disaster preparation workshops. It also organises awareness campaigns on every World Trauma Day and Road Safety Weeks with active participation of general public and school children.
